MCS Umbrella Scheme 2

This scheme is aimed at qualified plumbers, gas engineers and FGAS engineers who do not hold MCS Accreditation for heat pump installation but wish to install a heat pump system within the MCS framework allowing their client to claim the BUS (Boiler Upgrade Scheme) grant.

This will be done under Heat Pump Central MCS Accreditation as the licensed Umbrella Scheme operator and subject to it’s terms and conditions.

Under Umbrella Scheme – 2, the installer will source the heat pump equipment from a third party supplier (Not Heat Pump Central).

Minimum Requirements we need from the you.

  • Manufacture training certificate for the heat pump brand you wish to install
  • Signed Sub-Contractor Agreement (produced by Heat Pump Central)
  • Signed Sub-Contractor Agreement with any third party trade you intend to use on the installation (Electricians etc)
  • Copy of Public Liability Insurance ( min £2,000,000 ) plus those of third parties you intend to use.
  • Copies of Trade qualifications (FGAS, NVQ, Gassafe etc ) plus those of third parties you intend to use.
  • If this is your first heat pump installation, Heat Pump Central will require you to purchase additional On-Site Services;
    • 1 - Pre-Installation Site visit to help you set out and plan the installation in an MCS compliant manner
    • 2 – Wiring & Controls package to ensure low voltage wiring is correctly wired, so that the system can be set to work prior to commissioning.
